At Hedwig House, we understand that safe and stable housing is essential for mental wellness and personal growth. Through our Special Housing Assistance Program, we help individuals and families affected by mental illness secure affordable housing and avoid homelessness.
Funded by Montgomery County, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and Your Way Home, our program provides financial assistance for rental subsidies, security deposits, and essential home supplies.

We work closely with Your Way Home to assist individuals in need. If you or someone you know is experiencing homelessness, please contact Your Way Home at 610-278-3522 to begin the application process.
Our Special Housing Assistance Program is designed for:
▶︎ Adults (18+) with mental illness in need of stable housing.
▶︎ Individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of eviction.
▶︎ Those who meet Montgomery County’s eligibility criteria for rental assistance.
▶︎ Referrals for this program must come through Your Way Home.

▶︎ Provided 35 members with furniture and home essentials.
▶︎ Helped 32 members avoid homelessness with emergency financial assistance.
