Feature Friday (April 2024) - Robert

Robert has been living and working in the community independently for many years now. He works as a delivery driver and attends Hedwig House programming multiple times a week as he is comfortable driving himself all over the county. He enjoys socializing with his peers, talking about sports, and going to our outings in the community. Robert started, stars in, and produces a football podcast with some friends outside of Hedwig House. Over the past few years, he has integrated that skill into volunteering for Hedwig House - he partners with Ken, a board member and volunteer, to do a weekly football class looking ahead at the matchups for the next week and keeping peers up to date on football and other sports news. They led special classes for the members for the Super Bowl and March Madness this year. Robert continues to set himself new goals, picking up new hobbies and passions, and he recently started going to open mic nights to do stand-up comedy and go cart racing. Robert, we appreciate your ongoing participation in our program, volunteering and peer to peer teaching, and all the inspiring moves that you are making!
